Oxford and Cambridge athletes, whose composite forms Achilles, competed against four Ivy League universities earlier this year, taking on the home legs this month at Iffley and Wilberforce Road.
An incredibly competitive event came down to the wire at the 4x400m relays with Achilles just short of victory.
Stand out Achilles performances of the day came from Vincent’s Tom Renshaw in the 2000m men’s steeplechase winning in 5:57. Alex Shipley also stormed to victory in the women’s mile.
Other Vincent’s competing included Tom Wood in the 5000m, Ella Fryer, Charlotte Buckley, Tom Barrett, Sam Nelson and Joel Bell.
The trans-atlantic challenge switches to Cambridge next week when Achilles take on a combined Harvard & Yale Team, again, with many Vincent’s members, including Past President Miles Weatherseed and 400m track ace Maranga Mokaya set to chase down revenge.
